We process a huge volume of structured and unstructured data and have built a proprietary algorithm to aggregate the data from the raw features to overall ESG scores.
We also use Machine Learning to engineer innovative proprietary features such as diversity metrics and use Natural Language Processing to analyse and absorb news streams into its analytics platform.

While our technology is very advanced compared to other organisations in our market, we aim to simplify ESG analysis and implementation for investors using our platform.
Clients can view the ESG performance of their portfolios on our platform immediately after uploading their holdings, providing granular research on around 17,000 companies in seconds.
The platform has three proprietary tools:
1) Portfolio reporting - gives asset managers complete oversight of the investments and the ESG score of each company.
2) Investment screening - enables investment managers to identify companies that conform or don’t to the criteria set by the fund. For example, this could identify all investments where there has been an issue with modern slavery or fraudulent behaviour of management.
3) Deep-dive research - users can see a detailed ESG breakdown of a company they invest in or are considering investing in, including the real-time ESG score based on our proprietary algorithm.
Our ESG scores are granular, users can see exactly where the results come from, including the historical ESG performance of a company so you can see ESG changes over time.
Additional information and data sources are included on the platform including ESG-related news, the latest international regulatory frameworks like the EU Taxonomy (and the implications), peer analysis and a violation tracker which displays any time a company has caused an offence.
GaiaLens is a data-driven product that compiles, and analyses structured and unstructured data sets. This includes traditional financial data sets on around 17,000 public companies.
We are unique because we collect much more data than other ESG data providers including data that is not easy to find and already in organised data sets. Our proprietary algorithm enables us to aggregate a massive volume of data to calculate ESG scores.
It is worth noting that currently much of the focus within ESG investing is on environmental factors as climate change is such a prominent current issue globally. As a result, most data-gathering efforts for ESG analysis tend to concentrate only on environmental data. However, unlike the competition, we give an equal commitment to social and governance factors.
But social and governance data does not sit on convenient databases and requires much more advanced processing to collate, interpret and report.
Our Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and intelligent web crawlers allow us to create proprietary data for social and governance scoring.
