Skyhook’s Geospatial Insights location data offers a robust location data set that includes more than 20 million verified venues, signal confirmed device visits and dynamic behavioral and demographic segments.

Skyhook’s mobile location data combines multiple sources including both first party data collected via our SDKs and partner-provided data. All signals are
sourced from on device and Skyhook does not use bid stream data. There are over 275 million devices worldwide and 90 million in the United States.

Use Cases

Consumer Insights & Demographics - Identify consumer
trends, demographics and patterns of behavior by observing
where they shop or travel. Location intelligence can produce
privacy-protecting insights into consumer demographics by
homing and cross referencing anonymized devices to census
block groups. Having an understanding of consumer insights
allows you to tailor and personalize messaging to retain
existing customers and engage new consumers.

Loyalty Management - Identify your active customers,
learn about their brand preferences, patterns of movement
and loyalty levels. See if they also shop, travel or stay with
competitors and target advertising campaigns to those users

Skyhook’s Geospatial Insights location data is primarily sourced from our SDK which is installed in hundreds of mobile applications with millions of users. Skyhook also receives data from various partners, along with high quality third party data. All of the data is curated and validated by our expert geospatial team and validation algorithms to ensure accuracy and freshness.

Skyhook uses unique data cleansing techniques to dispose of any inaccurate data points. The data is verified by a team of location experts and validated by our algorithms. It is not uncommon for Skyhook to remove upwards of 80-90% of collected data points due to low quality locations.

Data Privacy

As part of our commitment to privacy and transparency, Skyhook is an active participant in a number of industry privacy forums. We are a member of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and complies with the NAI Code of Conduct, including its requirements as to transparency, notice and user control. In addition, as described in our Privacy Shield Notice, Skyhook complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States. Skyhook has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern.
