Description

Meteomatics already provides hyper-localized and accurate solar forecasts across the globe (kW & MW). Meteomatics uses sophisticated data science schemes to create solar power forecasts at 90-meter resolution and 5-minute timesteps
Available parameters include radiation, solar inclination, effective cloud cover, downscaled temperature, snow depth, direct and diffuse radiation and many more. Meteomatics API also features a shading algorithm that is helpful in resolving the effect of topographical features (such as mountains) on the direct radiation. Thereby, allowing customers to observe and mitigate the impacts of power slumps due to reduced solar energy production. Meteomatics also offers users the opportunity to detail their panel specifications in the API, such as panel tilt, panel orientation, and a number of tracking schemes are supported; including full-tracking or azimuth tracking. This gives users the opportunity to significantly improve the accuracy of their power output predictions and they can also test the impact by specifying their panel details within the API before implementing and running a forecast.
